At Kartalay, safety is not an add-on; it is a prerequisite of every job. Our operations manual is based on the SHGM UAS instruction and includes a separate risk analysis for each flight type.
Before the flight
- Site survey and airspace restriction check; flight permit and NOTAM coordination where required
- Weather check: wind, visibility, precipitation and Kp index (for GNSS performance)
- Aircraft and battery checklist, software and geofence verification
- Safe distance from third parties and a defined emergency landing area
During the flight
Each operation is staffed by at least one pilot and one observer. Beyond-visual-line-of-sight (BVLOS) work is never flown without an additional risk assessment and the required authorisations. Automatic return-to-home and emergency landing procedures apply in the event of a fault.
Insurance
All our aircraft are covered by the mandatory UAS liability insurance. Project-specific extra cover (a higher third-party liability limit) is available on request. Policies are shared at the quotation stage.
